18" arist poured wax shoulder head & cloth doll Josephine by Myrtle Smith 1973

DESCRIPTION:
This auction is for a antique reproduction of 1800s poured wax doll by artist Myrtle Smith, made in 1973. Doll is signed
Josephine on her upper back and measures 18" tall being a wax shoulder head, wax arms from elbow down with fingers intact, wax lower legs with cloth body torso, the upper arms and upper legs are also cloth. Body is clean, stitch jointed at the hips, she displays well with a doll stand or just sitting. "Josephine" has a sweet face with insert blue glass eyes, single stroke auburn brown eye brows that match her hair, and closed painted mouth. She has a rooted auburn brown mohair wig with bangs.
Her Turn of the Century "style" dress is charming with mauve ribbon belt and lace trim, it has button/hooks down the back and is well crafted like this doll. She wears two antique slips with pantaloons, no stockings or shoes. Only minor wear throughout doll and clothing. I
